Blank Slate

Our basement project is complete and today we finished moving all of the things from the garage back into the basement. In some ways, it felt like a blank slate. We got rid of so much stuff that what remained could fit easily and neatly into the space. ​I am a minimalist at heart, so, I feel much lighter now.

We also got our Christmas tree today.   The tree lot was busy so when one of us found a potential tree, we would send an emissary to find the others and bring them back to assess the tree. The kids agree so much more quickly than they used to, which makes picking a tree a lovely experience. 

Thw tree is set up in the living room - another blank slate. Tomorrow, we’ll decorate and I can’t wait for those quiet mornings drinking coffee while enjoying the lights and decorations on the tree. Almost there.
